I ran into a similar situation a couple of days ago working with the
musicians on the new "Little Homeless Clown". The verses needed a
"bridge", just a simple couplet with some punch. Conley played the bit
and these words came from the muse:
"...I could tell she was lonely, it just wasn't for me,
She's got a little hankering to be a divorcee..."
No woman in her right mind would willingly marry you, Will.
The full piece, perhaps not as interesting without the music (going
into the studio the first week in January so that's a bit on down the
line for most readers here, locals can catch it Tuesday night at SoHo)
but it's pretty much a classic country-western type melody in a Gram
Parsons or even Buck Owens type music and vocal style:
LOL
Little Homeless Clown
Sign on the door
...should have read NO NARCISSTIC NITWITS ALLOWED.
